Ah, reminiscing about my dead of winter installation, We Heart Love, at the Project Lodge in 2010. Here are some shots from the installation while it was in progress. I kept the space as an on-going sketch/studio/installation-in-progress space for the first ten days of the show, and had the opening two days before V-Day. It was all about love and romance, of course.
Three favorite things from this photo selection:
1. I am still very enamored with this falling Girl/Alice drawing that I adapted from a 1930s children’s illustrated collection of Alice in Wonderland.
2. I believe that my Grandma Marlene made this little corduroy teddy bear. It follows me where ever I go as a testament to the rich crafting past of my family.
3. I love, love, love beautiful easter-colored afghan St. Vinny’s finds like this one resting on the heart pillow.
