Here are some full and detail shots of Embrace Me: So Big You Can’t Get Around It (Ver. 2.0) while installed at SoHiTek Gallery for the two-person December show, me and you/You & Me, that I had with Hannah Andrews. This is the second version of the heart pillow that I first finished in the Spring of 2011 and was consequently shown in Brooklyn, NY at the Textile Art Center in Play, a juried group show curated by Joetta Maue. Check out this article featuring images and artist text on the first version of the heart pillow, as it was displayed last Spring in the Love and Things Like Love show (curated by Becky Alley) at the Lexington Arts League in Lexington, KY: http://www.kentucky.com/2011/05/26/1753620/love-is-a-many-rendered-thing.html
Also included are images of Squeeze the Nectar/Cup the Blossom, which was another piece shown in me and you/You & Me; however, these images were taken back in my studio. This piece took me a year and a half to complete, the longest start-to-finish work that I have created to date, and this show was it’s first debut. I hope to be showing it in other spaces this coming year.
